True Blood 8 Minute Teaser

Sorry, I've been away running, get my mind right, my Jesus on and saving for my camera! But I just want to quickly share with you the 8 Minute Teaser from the new season of True Blood that starts in two weeks. Oh! HBO does bring us the best telly ever!

(I tried to embed the clip on the page, but as illegal internet TV goes it kept opening up pop-up ads. Very annoying. Click this link to get your choice of viewing platforms.) Click here. Alternatively, click here. And if that doesn't work, click here, search True Blood and watch Sooki magic happen.

Enjoy!

Top 5 Black Presidents From Film and TV

Pre-Obama, directors toyed with the idea of Black presidents all the time. The reality of said presidency has been nothing but cinematic, but let's have a gander at my Top 5 Black Presidents from Film and TV for no other reason than to entertain myself with nostalgic ramblings. YAY!

5. Dennis Haybert "24" David Palmer

When "24" came out 10 years ago, my mum's friend from work gave us the box set of VHS (such a long time ago) to watch. My mum and I stayed at home the whole weekend and watched all 24 episodes back to back under duvets in the living room. I don't even remember what we ate, but we were so enthralled. And we never watched another season of "24" again. I have a theory that certain shows should only have one or two seasons; Lost for example. First season, you're lost, second season, you're found. The end. And Prison Break is another one. First season, you're in prison, second season, you're out. The end. The third and fourth seasons are so unnecessary and then having characters appearing in other television shows? I don't have enough shade for the side eye I gave when Robert Knepper's Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell, showed up in Fox's Breakout Kings. ***rolls eyes***

Whoops. I went on a tangent. But, yes. Even though Dennis Haysbert's David Palmer is not actually president. He's black and he's trying to be. So, he's in fifth place.

4. Danny Glover "2012" President Thomas Wilson

Meh. In the last few years Danny Glover has taken to this pattern of speech that annoys the shit out of me. Others may find it endearing, but I find it infuriating. He did it in Antoine Fuqua's Shooter and he takes to doing it as American President and Thandie Newton's dad in Roland Emmerich's (my favourite director) 2012.

3. Tommy "Tiny" Lister "The Fifth Element" President Lindberg

Luc Besson has and always will be my hero when it comes to film. I will watch The Fifth Element until I'm old and decrepit and it will never age, it will never get boring. The Fifth Element is my first love of films. It is also the first time I ever saw a black president portrayed on screen and by none other than the baddy from Friday. Who knew? Tommy Lister is not the greatest actor but instilled a fear in his subordinates that cries leader. Love.

2. Blair Underwood "The Event" President Elias Martinez

Blair Underwood. This wonderful actor who's been in the game for years (Set It Off, Gattaca) plays this young, naive yet strong President with such flair and commitment he just gives me all the life I need every week in this great television show. Unfortunately, a friend let me know, and I also confirmed via Sci Fi Now, that duh Duh DUH The Event has been cancelled. What?!?! How will I live? It was an amazing television show that I will sorely miss. Let's pour some liquor for the homies. :-(

1. Morgan Freeman "Deep Impact" President Beck

The greatest Black President of all time is Morgan Freeman, without a doubt. I trust him with all my heart to lead the free world into all perilous, international turmoils with that resounding voice of his. He speaks with such authority, we have no choice but to fall plague to his awesome voice and do his bidding. Barack Obama wishes he was as a good a president as Morgan Freeman played in Deep Impact, the thinking man's Armageddon. He plays the President with not only a charismatic charm but a vulnerability because he knows that no matter what he does, this meteor is going to come and I love that. I really do.

So there you have it! Think I got it wrong? Don't really care. HAHAHAHA! My blog.

Bye!

50/50

I get teary-eyed when I see Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I'm so excited about his future as an actor. He just does something to my poor unsuspecting heart. I think he and Seth Rogen compliment one another beautifully in this trailer and I pray the film lives up to the expectations its preview have set.

Cancer is this constant elephant in the room that no one really talks about unless they're trying to scare the shit out of you, so I look forward to this film based on the memoir "I'm With Cancer" written by a friend of Rogen's Will Reiser. I'm scared he's going to die in it and leave me heaving from tears in the cinema. Heart broken times.

PS. He's running in the trailer. Be still my beating heart.

New Trailers: A Little Help

This one looks good, but every time I see an Indie trailer, I'm like "You're not Good Dick."

This is Good Dick. I have a big thing for Jason Ritter.

New Trailers: Salvation Boulevard

You know me, I love Jesus. I do, however, I find it hard to watch films or documentaries about people who love claim to love Jesus because they always end up looking super crazy and etremist like Magnolia Pictures' Jesus Camp and Louis Theroux's The Most Hated Family In America. I got the same feeling watching this trailer, that cringey "Oh Lord, look what they done did" feeling.

With an amazing cast (Ed Harris in particular) it will be a good movie. Am I going to watch it? We'll see. But enjoy the trailer.

New Trailers: Green With Envy

I almost cried watching this trailer and then THE MUPPETS came along and made me feel so good about life. I love them so much. I also love Amy Adams, ever since I saw her in Enchanted. And Jason Segel? Meh. Hope this makes you as happy as it made me.

Enjoy.

Where Have You Been, Young Lady?

Sorry, I've been obsessed with running for a couple weeks. Yes, every day I've woken up and felt this urge to do better than I did the day before. I've really been inspired by my friends Candice and Tahirah, who have been inspired by this dude; Charlie Dark ( I love this video. Graphics are sick! That's that 7D.)

I run with Nike Plus. Not an advert for them, just letting you know, should you want to run, you can run with them too! Plus I love the effort they put into their media programs. Either they really care about my progress or they really want me to buy more shit. Either way, I'm inspired.

Enjoy!

New Music Videos: Beyonce- (Who Run The World) Girls

Who run the world? Beyonce. LOL, don't think so? She must, she's had everyone one on tenterhooks for the past two weeks waiting for this Francis Lawrence directed video (Lady Gaga- Bad Romance, Jennifer Lopez- Get Right). And even though this is the sample of Major Lazer Pon De Floor's second time round in mainstream music in two years, no one cared! Not one bit, there were murmurings, but the common consensus was "It's Beyonce! She could bark on a track and I'd still listen eagerly."

So whatever! Beyonce runs the music world. The video is amazing, she looks amazing in it. Although, can I say, it feels like the adult version to Willow Smith's junior miss '21st Century Girl' directed by Rich Lee. But I am not hating. It's just an observation. Enjoy. And catch the Willow's video below.

New Trailers: The Adventures of Tin Tin: The Secret of the Unicorn

My grandfather would sit me down in front of the tube to watch Tin Tin. I loved it. I think I was too young to understand what was going on, but I loved the music (that theme tune is unforgettable) the colours and the characters, but especially Tin Tin and his dog. Who knew this was a way of peddling anti-nazi propaganda to kids? Love.

Steven Speilberg and Peter Jackson working together? This will be epic.

Enjoy!
