The Chicago Code

OK, so I love watching television, I would love watching British television as much as I do American television if it was as good, but its not. WOMP WOMP!

Anyway, one of my new favourite shows is The Chicago Code. Starring, amongst a great cast, are two actors who I've favoured forever, Jessica Beals and Delroy Lindo. Beals is the unforgettable (in my eyes) and sensual Alex Owens from Jerry Bruckheimer's executive produced Flashdance and beautiful, powerful lesbian from much missed The L Word. Lindo is the kind of man I want my mum to marry and star of great titles such as Ransom and The Devil's Advocate and can we not forget his turn as Aaliyah's dad in Romeo Must Die. POW! The man is a legend!

So imagine what greatness explodes onto our screens when actors of this magnitude come together for a cop show? Oh! The writers and producers of the show also responsible for Angel, The Unit and The Shield, have created a cop show where we truly care about the characters because they get to speak to the audience directly, telling us why they love Chicago and why they became police people. I love it. I love the action and the story lines and different layers, the character relationships and the pace.

My favourite theme in this show is exploration of gender roles through Beals and Lindo's characters. Here's a woman with balls going up against a man with bigger balls. Who's gonna win? The feminist in my is crying that Beals' wins, but this is TV!

Enjoy!
